I originally qualified as a dental surgeon from the University of Sheffield in 2008. My career has been spent time working in both NHS and private dental practices and within hospitals gaining experience in minor oral surgery, soft tissue surgery of the head and neck, dental and facial trauma and the management of medically complex patients. My background in oral and maxillofacial surgery combined with extensive experience of private dental practice has given me a comprehensive understanding of anatomy, enhanced surgical and injecting skills as well as a broader benchmark of high quality bespoke patient care and high clinical standards.
I started my facial aesthetics journey in 2012, undertaking UK-based training with Dr Bob Khanna, Skin Viva, HA Derma and Tom van Eijk. I’ve always been interested in the close links between dentistry and aesthetic treatments of the face and neck, especially making injectable treatments as comfortable and safe as possible.
Over the years, I have built an extensive patient base who appreciate the time, knowledge, planning and advice I provide during consultations and treatment appointments. My patients are the heart of my working day and every patient is treated as an individual to consider their treatment aims, address their concerns and insecurities in a confidential, professional environment.
My favourite aesthetic work is non-surgical treatments for patients wanting “undetectable tweakments”, not to change someones's face, but enhancing their own beauty. Those patients wanting subtle changes that really improve their confidence, knowing that they look and feel their face is refreshed, brighter and less tired looking but still natural. I love empowering my patients to look and feel their ultimate best. I have a real interest in working using a full face approach, to balance facial features and proportions, especially those that have changed over time.
One of my favourite treatments to do is the non-surgical rhinoplasty and restoration of the lower face, jowls and rebalancing the chin. After this treatment my patients have such an emotional response. It’s not all about vanity it’s about really making someone feel comfortable in their own skin. I also undertake lot of work with patients struggling with TMJ problems, teeth grinding, facial pain, migraines and chronic headaches. Using both dental and injectable treatments together can reduce symptoms, increase the frequency of pain-free days and improve the quality of daily life.
As an experienced dental surgeon, I have excellent working links with restorative dentists, orthodontists, head and neck surgeons, plastic surgeons and dermatologists. For patients requiring multi-disciplinary care, I have worked with other medics and dentists to provide the best overall outcome for our patients.
I am also one of the first clinicians in the region to be using the Clarius handheld ultrasound device, which allows us to visualise anatomy under the skin's surface before treatments providing ever higher standards of safety and the highest quality working practice.
I have a long-term goal to help educate people on facial aesthetics, removing the stigma and negativity against non-surgical treatments. We can promote high quality, natural, safe treatments by raising standards of training and regulation so patients receive the best outcomes in the best environments.
